Backstopping for SDC
NORRAG backstopping support for the Basic Education team of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation
NORRAG, in consortium with Helvetas, provides technical assistance to the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) Basic Education team of SDC’s Economy and Education section. A team from NORRAG and Helvetas, joined by external experts, is dedicated to this mandate.
This backstopping programme aims to strengthen the quality, effectiveness and implementation of SDC’s thematic work on education. It support the SDC in fulfilling its objectives and core tasks on education for enhanced outreach and capacity. The mandate specifically supports the strengthening of thematic and methodological competence of SDC education stakeholders, the development of innovative tools and approaches, and supports knowledge promotion and information management, as well as communication practices.
The SDC’s education strategy resonates with NORRAG’s own thematic areas and mandate, considering education as a fundamental human right and a core enabler of sustainable development more broadly. The backstopping mandate runs from July 2022 to the end of December 2026. NORRAG has also provided backstopping support to SDC’s Education Programmes through a previous mandate from February 2018 to January 2021, supporting SDC’s Education team for the implementation of SDC’s education strategy launched in May 2017.
