NORRAG and the KIX initiative

NORRAG (the Network for International Policies and Cooperation in Education and Training) was selected as Regional Learning Partner for hosting the KIX Europe, Asia, Pacific Hub (regional hub 3) of the KIX Initiative. NORRAG was awarded a grant for a 45-month project, starting in April 2020, to set up and manage a hub and platform for the 21 GPE partners countries in the region. NORRAG is an Associated Programme of the Geneva Graduate Institute and is supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).

The KIX Initiative corresponds to the core mission of NORRAG to mobilize, produce, and disseminate knowledge with a focus on providing a greater voice and enhanced visibility to expertise from the Global South. By providing and stimulating innovative and critical knowledge and perspectives on the interaction between international and national policies, NORRAG seeks to inform and influence policies and practice on a number of key themes. As part of the KIX Initiative, NORRAG closely collaborates with education experts and institutions in the Hub3 region and mobilizes its own network of NORRAG members in the region.

About KIX

The Global Partnership for Education Knowledge and Innovation Exchange (KIX) is a joint endeavor with the International Development Research Centre to connect expertise, innovation and knowledge to help developing countries build stronger education systems and accelerate progress toward SDG 4. With a budget of over CA$82 million, KIX is the largest fund solely dedicated to meet global public good gaps in education.

Through the sharing and funding of proven solutions and innovations, KIX has 2 objectives:

  • Ensuring that evidence-based solutions get in the hands of national policymakers and directly feed policy dialogue and planning processes.
  • Building capacity to produce, integrate and scale knowledge and innovation in GPE partner countries.

KIX consists of four regional hubs, where partners come together to share information, solutions and best practices. These hubs, comprised of government representatives and other local education stakeholders, are:
