Welcome to the 1st KIX EAP Conference!

KIX EAP Hub is delighted to welcome you to the 1st regional KIX Central Europe, Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia Conference on Education Policy and Innovation to be held online on 7, 14, 21 October 2021, always 10:00 – 12:15 Geneva time.

The first KIX Europe, Asia, Pacific Hub Conference Education Policy and Innovation aims to create a forum for intensifying dialogue between researchers, policymakers, and practitioners from Caucasus, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and beyond. The conference will provide a venue for bridging the, seemingly perennial, gap between research, policy, and practice. In bringing together educational sector experts and institutions, the conference will mobilize knowledge and provide visibility to national and regional expertise. It welcomes recent data-driven research and best practice, which addresses current national and regional challenges and provides prospective solutions.

Thematic priorities

Three thematic areas are at the core of the conference: COVID-19 response and digital learning, gender equality and social inclusion, and teaching quality and learning (assessment).

  • COVID-19 response and digital learning I 7 October 2021In 2020 education systems worldwide were subject to significant changes and urged to accelerate digitalization. On day 1 of the conference, we will focus on this novel research field. We will discuss challenges and measures to limit education risks in times of the pandemic.
  • Gender equality and social inclusion I 14 October 2021The expansion of inclusive education has been among the biggest reform approaches over the last 20 years worldwide. Day 2 will provide an opportunity to focus on research and measures to improve access to quality education, especially for children that are particularly disadvantaged due to gender, language, poverty, disability, and location.
  • Teaching quality and learning (assessment) I 21 October 2021On our final conference day, we will literally zoom in on teaching and learning. We would like to discuss research and good practices regarding teacher training and development, teaching and learning materials, instruction quality, and assessment for learning.

The Program Committee will invite government officials at relevant national ministries, universities, civil society and private sector organizations, and the broad international donor community to present their work, research, or other analytical work, and engage in an exchange on current research findings and debates.

We look forward to welcoming you to the conference!
