6 November 2018: Education and Migration: Young People Need a Future

A Thematic Day for Actors in the Education Sector

At the event, a broad discussion will take place with Koumba Boly Barry, UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Education, as well as with Swiss political representatives and of the field of education, integration and of the working world. RECI members will report from their experiences with national and international projects.

The main focus of the event will be to question what education systems have to provide to meet the needs of young refugees and asylum seekers and to ensure their right to education: What requirements must education professionals satisfy? How can previous training and certificates be recognised in a new country? And how can education contribute to help someone find its place in society?

The Thematic Day will be organised by the Swiss Network of Education and International Cooperation (RECI) and NORRAG. It aims to provide a platform to exchange on experiences gained in Switzerland and in the field of international cooperation and to develop perspectives for further cooperation.

It will take place in the auditorium of the “PROGR Zentrum für Kulturproduktion”, Waisenhausplatz 30 in Berne on November 6, 2018 9.30 a.m. – 4.30 p.m. Save the date!

The programme and further information will be available at the end of August on the websites of RECI and NORRAG.

The event is organised with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and Platform Migration and Development.
