ERNWACA and NORRAG contribute to the ADEA Triennial (Ouagadougou, February 2012)
A joint study between the ERNWACA teams in Ghana, Burkina-Faso and Ivory Coast and a NORRAG team has been launched recently, to be presented during the next ADEA Triennial in Ouagadougou in February 2012, the theme being:
“Promoting critical knowledge, skills and qualifications for sustainable development in Africa: How to design and implement an effective response through education and training systems?”.
Considering the renewed interest for TVET, and Skills Development (SD) more largely, the study aims at:
- proposing a state of the art of the research works, studies and documents produced over the last 20 years by the research community as well as the SD stakeholders in the three countries;
- consulting these stakeholders about their evaluation of the relevance and impact of the material produced, as well about their needs and expectations for new research;
- proposing some research priorities based on the two previous inputs, as seen by the stakeholders as well as by the researchers.
This reflection will be placed in the broader perspective of the difficult situation of social sciences research in Africa.
